A no-account, no-server Vora alternative
Vora is one of the most generous free health apps out there — AI photo logging, wearable sync and coaching, all at no cost. This page isn't here to dispute that. The thing it can't offer is what Nibble is built around: no account, no server, and a diary that never leaves your device.
Honestly, up front: if you want AI that recognises your meal from a photo, syncs with your watch and ring, and chats you through a plan, Vora does all of that for free and you should use it — nothing here matches those features.3 Nibble is a small, single-purpose diary — food and exercise logging with MET-based burn estimates — that tracks calories and the three macros only. It trades all of Vora's cloud-AI convenience for one promise: no account, no server, everything local, and your diary never sent anywhere. This isn't a "cheaper than Vora" argument — Vora's core is already free. It's a different architecture. If that specific tradeoff is what you're after, read on.

Where Nibble actually wins
- No account, ever. Vora asks for an email to create an account so it can hold your data. Nibble has no login and no user database at all.2
- Your data never leaves your device. Vora's AI logging, coaching and wearable sync all run on Vora's servers — its privacy policy describes processing your data in the United States and other countries. Nibble runs no server: your diary lives only in this browser's local storage, so there's nothing in a cloud to breach or disclose.2
- Works offline, with nothing to sign up for. Nibble loads in your browser and keeps working offline after the first load — no account, no onboarding, no server round-trip to log a meal. Vora's AI features need a live connection to its servers by design.
- One tier, no trial to cancel. Vora's free tier is real, but new users also start on a 30-day Pro trial, and the full experience nudges toward Pro (about $12.99/mo or $89.99/yr). Nibble has one free tier, no Pro, and nothing to remember to cancel.1

Where Vora is the better choice
Credit where it's due: Vora is unusually generous for a free app. Its AI recognises food from a photo or a spoken description, it syncs with 500-plus wearables to pull in your workouts, sleep and recovery, it tracks 35+ nutrients from a large food database, and it offers AI chat and voice coaching — all on the free tier, with Pro only raising limits and adding advanced coaching.3 If you want an app that does the logging for you, unifies everything your watch and ring measure, and coaches you toward a plan, Vora delivers that and Nibble simply doesn't try to. Every one of those features, though, needs a server to process your data and an account to hold it — which is exactly the thing Nibble is built to avoid. Nibble's local-only, macros-only design is a deliberate simplicity-and-privacy tradeoff, not a cheaper knock-off of Vora: AI photo recognition, wearable sync and cloud coaching would all require sending your data somewhere, and Nibble's whole point is that it never does.
